Unicorns and Rainbows

Just as former PM Harper had predicted.  told Anthony Furey from the Sun:

A couple of days before the last federal election, Stephen Harper told me the economic plan that Justin Trudeau was pitching to the electorate was “all unicorns and rainbows.”

Just his father Justin Trudeau is taking us into a dire fiscal crisis.  Guess the apple doesn’t fall far the tree. It’s like deja vu all over again, spiraling out of control debt and deficit. According to the Liberal government’s own document that was quietly released just before Christmas, hoping no one would notice, give a grim outlook into our future fiscal status and it does not look good.  It reminds me of when his dad was in power in the ’70’s who took us to the almost to the brink.  He was a tax and spend Liberal who left us with debt and deficits increasing to record highs.

•Returning to surplus

Trudeau’s campaign promise: 2019

Finance department’s forecast: 2055

•Reducing the debt ratio

Trudeau’s campaign promise: down to 27% by 2019

Finance department’s forecast: still up at 30.4% by 2021

•Still not balancing itself

“The commitment needs to be a commitment to grow the economy and the budget will balance itself.”

— Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, 2014

•Gloomy future

“I don’t think it’s going to end well.”

— Ian Lee, Carleton University

•Federal debt projections

-2017: $635 billion

-2021: $746 billion

-2030: $992 billion

-2045: $1.5 trillion

My kids are working hard trying pay off the debt Justin’s dad racked up.   Now my grandchildren will be burdened  with having to pay off Justin’s mess.

It doesn’t have to be like this.  Nobody can say they weren’t forewarned.

Remember this?

We were in pretty good shape when  PM Harper left office.  Boy do I miss him!   All I can say is this current bunch needs to be fired.  They’re incompetent at best.   You can’t run the country from “the heart out” and with unicorns and rainbows.  Neither do “budgets balance themselves.”   This insanity has to stop!
