Make Conservatism Great Again

To make conservatism great again politics is not the way to go. Political discourse is mostly Liberal.  Even your so called conservative parties and leaders in the western world aren’t really that conservative. They think they need to promote liberal policies because they believe that’s where the electorate are at.  What’s going on?

It’s mostly a culture war. Conservatives have allowed liberals to take over that area. They dominate the education institutions, the arts etc. It’s a fact that it seems that liberalism/socialism is the mainstream today.   Schools from Kindergarten to College and University are mostly left wing.  Most in the news media lean left, so the stories they report are from a leftist point of view.  They very rarely present the other side.

It’s hard to find a television show, a movie or a piece of music that isn’t left leaning expect maybe for “Last Man Standing” with Tim Allen who portrays mostly conservative values on the show.

What do conservatives do about it?  How do we make conservatism great again?  Conservatives have to fight back using culture.  Most of the public are not political junkies, they don’t pay attention, they don’t care.  They do pay attention to movies, TV, music etc.

We need to have conservatives publishing music, art, books.  Conservatives need to produce television, movies with conservative values etc

Use your your wallet. Stop supporting the music, television shows and movies.  Don’t buy the music, the books, don’t go to those movies who don’t promote conservative values.  Don’t spend your hard earned money  on the left wing propaganda and for goodness sake STOP watching the news on TV, it’s bad for the blood pressure levels.

Conservatives need to take over the news media, like The Rebel Media for example.  You can start your own media.  Everyone has a cell phone, everyone can be a citizen journalist.  More and more people are turning away from the traditional media everyday anyway and turning to the internet for their news and entertainment.

As far as education goes, parents need to keep watch what their children are being taught and demand some this stuff be taken out of the classroom.  More conservatives should run for a seat on their local school board etc. to be an influence.  Just get involved!  Don’t send your kids to left wing universities.  Teach your children conservative values right from the start.  These kids are smart and catch on pretty quickly.

So if we want to make conservatism great again, we have to get involved in the culture wars.  Roll up your selves, write a song, make TV show or movie and post it online or start your own news media outlet.  Get involved in your local school board.

Make the Most of Your Time

The other day I heard a song on the radio by Canadian country music singer Dean Brody.  That song was called “Time”  It’s a song about how we put things off ignoring the real important things in our lives like spending more quality time with our friends and family, noticing that each day that goes by time vanishes before our very eyes. Then we wake up and realize it’s too late.  We take time for granted.

That song made me think of what’s happening today.  There are so many distractions.  Whether it’s our cell phones, social media, video games, television etc.  It’s so easy to set more important things aside like spending more quality time with friends and family, even neglecting our work I hate to say.

I’ve noticed especially when we’re on social media we tend to get caught up in it and before you know it, we’ve  have wasted valuable time.  I will admit I’m guilty of doing that.

We need to realize that each day that does go by we can’t get it back.   We can’t climb into a time machine,(at least not that I know of) to say last Wednesday and relive it.  It’s gone forever.

We need to assess how we spend our time, set priorities. Time is precious.  Let none of us have any regrets.  The song says it all.

Time lyrics

[Verse 1]
A gang of kids on our peddle bikes
In a dusty town, way to ride
To the general store for popeye cigarettes
Class of ’99
Yeah we lived, laughed, loved and cried
Took for granted that those days would never end
Living like that yearbook picture wouldn’t fade
And some standing right beside me, I might never see again

[Chorus]
The trouble is
You think you have time
You think tomorrow’s always coming down the line
And then one day
You wake up and you find
The trouble is you thought you had time

[Verse 2]
Suit and tie, and a fancy job
Big old house, two car garage
He works hard for his wife and his son
An empty seat at t-ball games
It’s just a sacrifice he’ll make
He’ll make it up, next weekend comes along
Years go by and that day comes too soon
That boy goes off to college, and you stand in his empty room

[Chorus]
The trouble is
You think you have time
You think tomorrow’s always coming down the line
And then one day
You wake up and you find
The trouble is you thought you had time

[Verse 3]
Shotgun shells and a tackle box
On the floorboard of a truck
Morning sun burning fog off a lake
Teenage girl with her grandad
He takes her fishing but he feels bad
That she can’t take her eyes off that ‘ol Facebook page
But someday soon, who knows how long
She’ll look up from that phone and he’ll be gone

[Chorus]
The trouble is
You think you have time
You think tomorrow’s always coming down the line
And then one day
You wake up and you find
The trouble is you thought you had time
The trouble is you think you have time
